Lexington Homes to Start Sales in Mid-May at Lexington Pointe, a New Community of 58 Townhomes in Des Plaines

Lexington Homes is coming back to Des Plaines – returning to the popular close-in suburb for the second time with its time-tested and perfected townhome floor plans. The homebuilder announces sales will start in mid-May at Lexington Pointe, a new community of 58 townhomes. Lexington Pointe is one of five new-home communities the builder plans to introduce this year across the city and suburbs.
Located at 781 Lee St., Lexington Pointe will be conveniently located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, in walking distance to a plethora of shopping and dining venues. It also will be two blocks from the Des Plaines Metra station, as well as near a host of local parks and recreational attractions.
Townhomes will offer two to three bedrooms, 2½ baths and attached two-car garages, with prices starting from the mid $350,000s. Two models and an on-site sale center will open at Lexington Pointe this summer. Groundbreaking and construction are set to begin in July, and first deliveries are scheduled for late 2017.
“We had a hugely successful townhome community in Des Plaines very close to this new community that we sold out a few years ago called Lexington Park,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. “We are thrilled to be back to offer our great floor plans to a whole new generation of homebuyers. This charming suburban location pairs our well-designed and generously sized townhomes with the walkability that today’s buyers want.”
Lexington Pointe will offer two floor plans, The Warrington and The Coventry. While these plans are similar to the ones offered at Lexington Park, Lexington has modified the layout, finishes and features included in the homes based on feedback and preferences of buyers in today’s market. The townhomes range from 1,751 to 1,913 square feet with options for deluxe master baths, extra powder rooms and fireplaces.
“Sophisticated design along with an urban lifestyle is what these homes deliver,” said Benach. “Both plans have highly sought-after free-flowing open space throughout the main level, which is ideal for entertaining. On the exterior, the traditional designs have pillared entries and stately brick, which are reminiscent of townhouses in Chicago’s historic Gold Coast and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. With prices from the mid $350s, these homes offer an amazing value for a modern new-construction home with all of the latest features.”
Interiors at Lexington Pointe will include a high level of finishes, such as wood flooring on the entire main level and 9-foot ceilings. Kitchens will feature stainless steel appliance packages and granite countertops. Master suites have walk-in closets and baths with dual sinks and granite or marble vanities.
Each floor plan includes a master suite, complete with a walk-in closet and private master bath with a walk-in shower and double-bowl vanity tops. Also included in both home designs is an expansive kitchen with a large island and breakfast area that connects to an outdoor balcony on one end and a spacious great room or dining room on the other. Finished lower levels provide even more additional usable space, as the flex rooms can be used as a home theater, home office or playroom.
Flexibility is the hallmark of these plans, added Benach. “Our options for adding a powder room to the lower level and relocating the laundry room can make a huge difference in how the homes meet the needs of certain buyers, whether they are a newly married couple, young family, or looking for an in-law suite,” he said.
“Another standout feature is the main-level den in The Warrington design,” said Benach. “It’s very unusual to find a townhome with this layout. Buyers love this room as a home office or kid’s playroom because it can be closed off with optional French doors. This plan also offers the option for dual master bedroom suites, which is great for buyers with frequent guests or a roommate situation.”
Lexington Pointe will be close to all the amenities and conveniences of downtown Des Plaines such as the Des Plaines Public Library, a U.S. Post Office location, as well as a number of churches and coffee shops. Active residents will appreciate being near a yoga studio and fitness center, as well as in proximity to an aquatic center, forest preserves, campgrounds, and numerous golf courses.
Just a short drive from I-294 and I-90, Lexington Pointe also is conveniently located for those commuting to the Loop or suburbs. The community also is in proximity to O’Hare International Airport.
