Lexington Crossing Answers Low Inventory Demand With Upgraded Move-In Ready Townhomes in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs

By Taylor Johnson

Homebuyers looking to move-in now and enjoy summer living in a brand-new home can choose from a number of townhomes available for immediate delivery at Lexington Crossing. Located right off Route 53 and Interstate 90, this new community of 54 townhomes by Chicago-based Lexington Homes offers a convenient location for recreation lovers and commuters, near major shopping centers, parks, walking paths and the Metra train.

While Lexington Crossing is more than 75 percent sold and many homebuyers have moved in, a handful of townhomes are available for immediate move-in. These early-delivery homes are highly upgraded with luxury finishes and features – some even include up to $20,000 of extras and options that have been built into the price of the home at no additional charge. The builder also will cover partial closing costs for select homes.

Located at the intersection of Kirchoff and Library roads in Rolling Meadows – a half-mile east of Route 53 and less than five minutes from Interstate 90 – Lexington Crossing combines suburban convenience with urban style. Townhomes range in size from 1,751 to 1,913 square feet and offer two to three bedrooms, 2½ baths, finished lower levels and attached two-car garages. Immediate-delivery homes are priced from $337,004.

“To keep up with the demand for move-in ready homes, we made sure to finish the homes with high-end luxury features that are most popular with our buyers, such as upgraded tile, extra cabinetry and fireplaces in some homes,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. “What’s best is we are not adding these costs to the price of the home – it’s basically like getting $20,000 in free upgrades.”

Lexington Crossing offers two floor plans, the Warrington and the Coventry. Standard features in all homes include 42-inch upper kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, a large kitchen island with breakfast bar overhang, energy-efficient stainless steel GE appliances, oversized balconies, 3-inch wide hardwood flooring throughout the main level and 12x12-inch ceramic flooring in entryways and baths.

Each townhome available for immediate move-in includes different finishes and upgrades, such as fireplaces, frameless shower doors, and master baths with granite or marble counters.

One of the available homes is the Warrington plan, a 1,758-square-foot plan with two master suites and 2½ baths. Priced at $337,004, the home features a large eat-in kitchen that opens to a spacious great room with fireplace. The kitchen has upgraded cabinetry, granite countertops and tile backsplash. The main level also offers a den that can be used as a nursery or office. Upstairs are dual master bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath and walk-in closet, as well as the laundry closet. A finished lower level serves as a flex room, which buyers can use as fitness room, children’s play area or home theater.

Another home ready for move-in features the 1,913-square-foot Coventry plan, priced at $344,520. It includes three bedrooms and 2½ baths. Among the stand-out features of the home is a built-in kitchen buffet as well as upgraded cabinetry, granite countertops and tile backsplash in the kitchen. The main level also features wrought-iron staircase railings leading to the upper level. The master bedroom is upgraded with a volume ceiling.

Benach noted these turnkey homes at Lexington Crossing are especially great in the summer season. “Day one after moving in, buyers can head right out to the walking path or public pool located just adjacent to the community,” he said. “Homebuyers also can set up an al fresco dining or reading area on their generously sized balcony. Plus, with the maintenance-free lifestyle offered by Lexington Crossing, residents are sure to have extra time to enjoy their new home and all the area offerings, such as the coffee shops, stores and restaurants that are within easy walking distance.”

Benach noted that as more people move into Lexington Crossing in Rolling Meadows, some owners are referring others to buy a new home at the community, too, such as Carissa and Michael Gallaher. The Gallahers moved into their townhome in May of this year, and Carissa’s sister and her family recently purchased a townhome and plan to move in by January 2018.

“We previously lived in Schaumburg and really like the northwest suburbs, so we love the location of Lexington Crossing,” said Carissa Gallaher. “It’s very convenient to coffee shops, grocery stores and restaurants we like. I grew up in the city and know what it’s like to fight for parking spaces and deal with traffic lights, and we won’t have those issues here. We also have a dog, and we love that there is a park right next door.”

Gallaher says the floor plan they selected, the Warrington, is ideal for the couple because they both work from home most of the time. The home has two bedrooms, 2½ baths and a den/office on the main level. “We really liked the high-end finishes and features of the home. Our townhome is roomy with lots of space, and it’s also very quiet. My sister and her family visit a lot and decided to purchase a townhome here as well. She and her husband especially like that it’s maintenance-free, as they have a baby and busy lifestyle.”

Located less than a mile from the Arlington Heights Metra station, Lexington Crossing offers convenient access to downtown Chicago via the Union Pacific / Northwest Line. In addition, the community is a short drive from O’Hare International Airport and is near Route 53 and Interstate 90. Also nearby are major shopping centers -- Woodfield Mall and The Streets of Woodfield.

Lexington Crossing’s on-site sales center, located at 3245 Kirchoff Road, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. For more information or to make an appointment to visit Lexington Crossing, visit www.lexingtonchicago.com or call 847-299-0500.
