If you’re looking to keep the kids busy for the day, the Historic Wagner Farm is a must-see. Founded in the 1850s, the farm was owned and operated by the Wagner family until 1997 when the last remaining member of the family, Rose Wagner, passed away. When it comes to recreation, the Glenview Park District has dozens of options, including 26 public parks and a remarkable 853 acres of land dedicated to playgrounds, sport fields, indoor and outdoor aquatic centers, skating rinks, a fitness center, and more. Glenview is also home to a variety of other recreational opportunities, including The Grove, a 150-acre land preserve – home to some of the most ecologically-diverse prairies in the Chicagoland area – and Harms Woods, a jewel of the CCFPD that boasts miles of bike trails meandering along the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Health Check

There’s a certain comfort to having outstanding medical facilities nearby, and Glenview has several. Glenbrook Hospital, located just a mile down the street from Parkside, is a NorthShore University Health system institution that has been recognized for the America’s Best 250 Hospitals Award. Glenview hosts a variety of immediate care clinics and doctor offices as well, and several other top hospitals are nearby, including North Shore Skokie Hospital, Evanston Hospital, and Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge.
