Lexington Homes Launches New Phase at Lexington Park in Des Plaines

Chicago Tribune

Due to the resounding success of sales in the first phase of townhomes at Lexington Park, Chicago-based Lexington Homes (www.lexingtonchicago.com) has introduced a second phase of the community, which includes 53 townhomes. Three buildings in the new phase are currently under construction with deliveries expected this July/August.

Lexington Homes Launches New Phase at Lexington Park in Des PlainesLexington Park, a community of 120 townhomes total in northwest-suburban Des Plaines, is located within walking distance of downtown Des Plaines and the Des Plaines Metra Station, at Western and Harding Avenues. The community offers three floor plans ranging from 1,605 to 1,913 square feet. Base-priced from $239,990 to $264,990, the three-story homes come standard with two to three bedrooms, 2½ baths and attached two-car garages. Options allow for additional powder rooms.

“Lexington Park is one of the top-selling townhome communities in the Chicago area,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. “The community is already over 50 percent sold, and because of the great success we’ve had, we were able to move forward with our second phase at a time when many homebuilders are having to put off opening new communities or new phases.

“We’re proud to say we have seen an uptick in sales and are optimistic about the spring and summer homebuying market,” he added. “Our location in downtown Des Plaines along with our stylish and functional floor plans starting in the $230,000s make Lexington Park very attractive to homebuyers.”

The new phase features the same floor plans originally offered at the community— the Bristol, the Warrington and the Coventry, all of which are featured in decorated models available to tour.

Priced from $239,990, the 1,605-square-foot Bristol includes two bedrooms and 2½ baths. The main level features a combination living/dining room, kitchen with breakfast nook, powder room and balcony. Upstairs includes dual master suites, a laundry closet and two linen closets. The main master suite has a walk-in closet and master bath with “his” and “hers” vanities. The secondary master suite has two closets and a full bath with a window.

“This home is perfect for first-time buyers or those who may be renting and are ready to move up to a new home of their own,” said Benach. “It includes all the sought-after finishes at an amazing price.”

The Warrington is a 1,758-square-foot home that includes two bedrooms, 2½ baths and the builder’s signature touches like arched entryways; a kitchen pass-thru with breakfast bar; and a den located off the kitchen. The home is base-priced from $254,990. The option for a third bedroom is available.

“The Warrington offers some very attractive and functional features, especially the den located on the main level adjacent to the kitchen,” said Benach. “This extra room is perfect as a playroom near the main kitchen hub area for families with young children, or it also makes an ideal home office.”

From the front entry, a half-flight of stairs leads to the finished lower level, which makes a great game room or home office.

Another half-flight of stairs leads up to the main level, which features a den, powder room, open living/dining room, and an oversized balcony off the eat-in kitchen. Upstairs, the Warrington has dual master suites on opposite ends of the home. As an added convenience, the laundry closet is also located on this level.

The third floor plan at Lexington Park is the 1,913-square-foot Coventry. Priced from $264,990, the Coventry includes three bedrooms and 2½ baths.

“This home showcases some of Lexington Homes’ signature architectural touches, such as rounded archways and a dining room cut-out that provides extra space for a buffet,” said Benach. “Also, the kitchen resembles that of a single-family home, with an island and tons of storage space like a double-door closet pantry and extra 42-inch base cabinets along one wall.”

The Coventry also features a flexible lower level space that would make a great home theater. The upper level includes a master suite that comes standard with a large walk-in closet and vaulted ceiling, as well as two secondary bedrooms and a full hall bath.

All homes at Lexington Park include brushed nickel lighting fixtures; oversized private balconies; 42-inch maple cabinets and GE stainless steel appliances in the kitchen; and a dual-bowl raised-height vanity. Buyers also can select options and upgrades, such as fireplaces, alternate bedroom configurations and additional powder rooms.
