Lexington Homes Kicks Off Sales and Opens Two Models at Lexington Square in Bridgeport
Chicago-based Lexington Homes has announced the beginning of sales and the opening of two models at Lexington Square, a community of 39 single-family rowhomes in Bridgeport. While Lexington Square is Lexington Homes' first project to launch in the city, it is the builder's third community to open within the past year.
Located six blocks west of U.S. Cellular Field at 3704 S. Sangamon Street, Lexington Square offers three floor plans ranging from 2,216 to 2,559 square feet. Base-priced from $439,900 to $499,900, the three-story homes come standard with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, rooftop decks and attached two-car garages. Options allow for additional bedrooms and powder rooms.
"Lexington Square offers buyers the rare opportunity to own a contemporary, single-family style home in one of Chicago's historic neighborhoods, without the hefty price tag or hassles of maintenance and upkeep that accompany most single-family homes," said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. One of the models available for viewing is the fully-decorated Buckingham. The 2,507-square-foot model includes a variety of convenient built-in features, such as a foyer niche on the lower level with built-in cabinets and a granite countertop. The home is base-priced from $479,900.
The front entry opens to the lower level, which includes a wall closet and a family room located off the foyer. The lower level also features a powder room and hardwood flooring throughout. "The addition of a powder room makes this a great space for hosting overnight guests. Buyers can also opt to include an extra bedroom and full bath on this level, which is a convenient option for buyers with live-in relatives," said Benach.
A full flight of stairs leads to the main level, which includes hardwood flooring throughout and features the living and dining rooms, a powder room, laundry closet, and an oversized balcony off the eat-in kitchen. The living room has been upgraded to include a wall fireplace with marble surround nestled between two tiers of built-in shelving. This home is decorated to show a flat screen TV and speakers mounted above the fireplace, which demonstrates how integrating a home theater system with a great design element like a fireplace can soften the look of a room, noted Benach.
In the kitchen, buyers will enjoy a variety of high-end standard finishes and features, including granite countertops, 42-inch maple cabinets, GE stainless steel appliances, and a large island with cabinetry on both sides.
"The kitchen in the Buckingham lives and looks like a kitchen found in a single-family home," said Benach. A second fully-decorated model available for viewing is the 2,216-square-foot Grant. Priced from $439,900, the Grant includes three bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths.
Similar to the Buckingham, residents enter on the lower level, which includes a ceramic-tiled foyer with closet and a carpeted family room. The lower level features a powder room off the family room and also offers the ability to include an additional bedroom and full bath.
Visitors can proceed up a flight of stairs to the main level, which includes a powder room, laundry closet, living and dining rooms, and an oversized balcony off the eat-in kitchen. According to Benach, the kitchen in this model showcases Lexington Homes' efficient use of space as it features a built-in bench in the eating area and a peninsula with cabinets on both sides and an overhang for accommodating stools. The addition of GE's new Café series of stainless steel appliances also provides the space with a more urban-industrial feel, noted Benach.
The upper level includes a master suite and two secondary bedrooms. The master bath features ceramic flooring, a walk-in shower with ceramic tiling surround and a dual-bowl vanity with granite countertop. A dual-master suite option is available in the Grant design as well, which Benach noted has been a popular option with downsizers, as well as roommates. With this layout, the primary master suite includes a deluxe master bath with a soaking tub and walk-in shower, a dual-bowl raised-height vanity, and a private water closet.
All homes at Lexington Square include brushed nickel lighting fixtures and oversized private balconies; 42-inch maple cabinets, granite countertops and GE stainless steel appliances in the kitchen; hardwood flooring throughout the main level; and raised-height vanities with granite or marble countertops in all baths. Buyers also can select from a variety of options and upgrades, including fireplaces, wet bars, alternate bedroom configurations and additional powder rooms.
