Lexington Homes Continues Expansion in Bridgeport with Lexington Place2 and Lexington Square3

Second phase of single-family homes to open in September and third phase
of rowhomes to open winter in burgeoning Bridgeport neighborhood.

After successfully pioneering a vibrant new residential hotspot at the south end of Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood, Chicago-based Lexington Homes is expanding its mini empire in the area with 41 more new-construction homes. Sales of single-family homes at Lexington Place2 have begun and sales of rowhomes at Lexington Square3 are slated to start this winter. Both new communities will be located on the same home site at 36th Place and Sangamon Street, a block from the original Lexington Square and Lexington Place communities.

“We were pioneers in building new homes in the southern portion of Bridgeport, and today we are so proud of the lively, family-friendly community we’ve helped create,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. “We’ve literally watched the neighborhood transform into a destination for families to live in the city. About half our homebuyers in our rowhomes have newborns or young children, so we’ve even experienced our own baby boom. We’re thrilled to be launching phase three of our Lexington Square rowhomes and phase two of our Lexington Place single-family homes to provide even more of these popular homes.”

Lexington Place2 will offer 20 single-family homes in two floor plans measuring approximately 3,000 to 3,600 square feet, with base prices starting from $472,500. Homes will come standard with three or four bedrooms, 2½ baths, separate living and dining rooms, eat-in kitchens, two-car garages, finished basements and oversized yards. Options include additional bedrooms, bathrooms and a three-car garage. A model will be under construction soon, but in the meantime, buyers can view a host of interior and exterior renderings on the builder’s website at www.lexingtonchicago.com.

“We sold out of the nine homes at Lexington Place in record time, and that was without a model home,” said Benach. “With Lexington Place2, we will have a model for buyers to tour in the coming months. These homes are perfect for city buyers looking for an extra-wide, extra-deep home site with a large backyard, as our sites are deeper than the typical Chicago lot. Homes also will have sought-after single-family features like mudrooms and front porches.”

Lexington Square3 will offer 21 rowhomes in two floor plans ranging from 2,216 to 2,507 square feet. Base-priced from $369,000, the three-story homes will include three bedrooms, 2½ baths and attached two-car garages. Options allow for additional bedrooms, baths and rooftop decks with skyline views.    

“We only have 11 more townhomes to sell at Lexington Square2, then we can start sales at Lexington Square3,” said Benach. “We will have the same floor plans and great finishes in this third phase, which is about one and a half blocks from our current site. Buyers love all the outdoor space with these rowhomes, which includes a fenced yard, balcony and optional rooftop decks.”

For both communities, location is a major attraction, as homes will be situated eight blocks west of U.S. Cellular Field, and just one block away from Donovan Park, a full-square-block city park with ball fields, basketball courts and a soft-surface playground with spray pool. Residents also will have proximity to Metra and “L” stations as well as major expressways like Interstates 90/94 and 55 for easy commutes downtown. All the culture and amenities Bridgeport has to offer are within easy reach, including trendy restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, art studios and boutiques.

An on-site design center for both communities will allow buyers to view an extensive range of interior finishes.  

Homes at Lexington Place2 will feature high-end finishes such as 42-inch maple cabinets with crown molding, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen; granite vanities in baths; and hardwood flooring throughout the main level.

Turn left at Halsted Street and continue for three blocks to 37th Street. Turn right at 37th Street and the sales center will be located just ahead at 37th and Sangamon streets.
