As the story states, first-time buyers are driving the housing market and tend to shy away from older, existing homes. The following is an excerpt from the <a title=\"story\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dailyherald.com\/article\/20130413\/entlife\/704139960\/?interstitial=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">story<\/a> about the Suhrs experience looking for their new home.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The Suhrs also admit they were picky. They wanted a multilevel home (not a ranch) in a nice area with good schools and close access to transportation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We want to start a family in the next few years and all we were finding on the market were 1,300- to 1,400-square-foot ranches,&#8221; she said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Ryan also admitted that the couple had a difference of opinion. He wanted a single-family home with a big yard. She wanted to buy a two- or three-flat they could use for rental income.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Lexington Park\" href=\"http:\/\/lexingtonchicago.com\/find-your-home\/lexington-park-2\/townhomes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Lexington Park<\/em><\/a><em> in Des Plaines gave them the best of both worlds, once they decided to look at new construction, he said. &#8220;Four or five years from now when we want something bigger, we can keep this and rent it out and it will remain a great investment for us.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our Lexington Park townhome community in Des Plaines is definitely meeting the needs of these buyers.
