In another sign that homebuilding is emerging from its slump, Chicago-based Lexington Homes<\/a> announces the opening of a new phase of single-family rowhomes at Lexington Square called Lexington Square2<\/a>, located in Chicago\u2019s Bridgeport neighborhood. The builder plans to break ground on an initial portion of the homes later this spring.<\/p>\n

Lexington Square2<\/a> is a new community of 24 rowhomes situated directly across from Donovan Park and eight blocks west of U.S. Cellular Field. The community will offer the same two floor plans that were built at Lexington Square, which measure from 2,216 to 2,507 square feet and are base-priced from the $370,000s. The three-story homes come standard with three bedrooms, 2\u00bd baths, rooftop decks and attached two-car garages. Options are available for a fourth bedroom and additional bath.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to be opening a new phase and feel the timing is right, as this is the first year in five years that we\u2019ve felt the market is picking up,\u201d said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re actually seeing a spring market at our communities this year and feel homebuyers are more serious than they have been in recent years. We have nearly sold out of homes at Lexington Square, so we are thrilled to be able to bring more single-family rowhomes to market. We\u2019re one of the only new-construction options in the city for buyers looking to move up to a more spacious home from a condo or apartment.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

Another big draw of the community is its convenient location to downtown and entertainment and cultural amenities.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of our residents are White Sox season ticket holders, and they love being able to walk to the ballpark or watch the post-game fireworks from their private rooftop decks,\u201d said Benach. \u201cAnd, over the past few years since we opened Lexington Square, many new trendy restaurants and boutiques have cropped up in the area. Bridgeport also has become an artist community with many artists moving here for the great loft art studios. It\u2019s becoming a more and more diverse, interesting and cultural neighborhood each day.\u201d<\/p>\n

For recreation, Lexington Square2<\/a> is located directly across the street from Donovan Park, a full-square-block city park with ball fields, basketball courts, and a soft-surface playground with spraypool. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Lexington Square2<\/a> also is in proximity to two lines of the \u201cL\u201d and a new Metra train station in the neighborhood, and it is easily accessible to all the city\u2019s major expressways.<\/p>\n

All rowhomes at Lexington Square2 include a private rooftop deck with full skyline views, a fenced-in front yard, and oversized private balconies off the kitchens. Homes also feature 42-inch maple cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen; and hardwood flooring throughout the main level.<\/p>\n
