A recent PennyMac article about \u201c2019 Urban Chic Home Design Trends\u201d<\/a> featured this aspect of Lexington\u2019s homes. The article noted Lexington\u2019s long experience in building in urban settings, interviewing Jeff Benach, Principal at Lexington Homes: \u201cHaving built more than 40,000 homes in the Chicago area, he now works on numerous townhomes, row homes, and single-family home communities in locations throughout the city of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. He has also noticed that many of today\u2019s homebuyers want townhomes with single-family-style features, and they have integrated those ideas into their designs.\u201d<\/p>\n Benach noted why Lexington makes a focused effort of providing space for buyers:<\/p>\n \u201cTownhome footprints are typically long and narrow, but we shifted the layout to be wide instead of deep. This gives the homes a more expansive feel, much like a single-family home in the open-concept kitchen and great room. Plus, the homes have full basements with 9-foot ceilings that add an additional level of living space to the home when finished.\u201d<\/p>\n Lexington sees a lot of buyers who are moving from condos in the city and are looking for more space in a townhouse\u2014which is typically less maintenance and more affordable than a single family home. A Realtor.com article about \u201cWhat’s Old Is New Again: Why Townhouses Are the Latest ‘It’ Homes\u201d<\/a> spoke with Benach, who mentioned that very recently, many millennials have chosen to buy Lexington homes. \u201cNearly all of Lexington Homes’ buyers are millennials, and most of them are either recently married or about to wed, says Lexington’s principal, Jeff Benach.\u201d<\/p>\n Are you interested in finding your Lexington home?
