Des Plaines is a suburb known for its annual summer events.  Home to Lexington Park, Des Plaines has something for everyone this summer.  Check out a the list of our favorites:

Each year Des Plaines hosts a townwide garage sale.  Corporate Des Plaines households in ZIP code 60016 may host garage sales from Friday, May 14 through Sunday, May 16.  Participating households will have the $6 garage sale permit fee waived on these dates only.  Shoppers can also check the Des Plaines website or contact Prudential Starck Realtors the Thursday before each sale for a map of garage sale locations.

Corporate households in Des Plaines ZIP code 60018 may host their sales the week after starting Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23, 2010. 

The Taste of Des Plaines is held annually right in the heart of downtown DP, held along Ellinwood Street.  This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Taste of Des Plaines and will be held June 4-6th!  A large selection of local eateries will have food for sale along with live music and games for the kids. 

Technically held in Park Ridge, at Maine East High School, a grand 4th of July fireworks display is held every year after sunset.  Large crowds gather early to picnic and hang out before the main event, which is located only minutes down the road from our Lexington Park community.  Be sure to get there early to get yourself a great spot!
