Homebuyer Tax Credit Officially Extended!

It's official!  The homebuyers' tax credit has been extended to next April with a closing date of no later than June 30, 2010.  President Barack Obama approved the extension as part of an economic stimulus bill signed last Friday.

The housing tax credit portion of the bill extends the $8,000 credit for home buyers who are purchasing their first home from the current November 30th deadline and expands the program to offer a $6500 credit to other homeowners who have lived in their current home for at least five years and are seeking to relocate. Another modification from the original legislation is that the income limits for program participation were raised from $75,000 for a single purchaser to $125,000 and from $125,000 to $225,000 for a couple.  There are also credits available on a diminishing basis above those income limits.

This comes as excellent news for the potential first time homebuyer, especially in conjunction with the stellar deals being offered here at Lexington Homes Chicago.  Our residences feature prices as low as $271,990 in Wheeling's Willow Place, $249,990 in Des Plaines' Lexington Park and $379,990 in Bridgeport's Lexington Square.  To those on the fence, now is not the time to slack as these kind of incentives only pair up together once in a lifetime. Act now and you can call one of the wonderful Lexington residences your own today.
